Modi government created 1.22 crore new Kisan credit cards, know how to apply

Kisan Credit Card is a Government of India scheme which aims to save farmers from high-interest rates usually charged by money lenders in the unorganised sector. If you want money for farming, go to the bank and take a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh at just 4% interest.  The options for farmers to get such cheap loans from anywhere else are very limited.

 The Kisan Credit Card scheme is a credit scheme introduced in August 1998 by Indian banks. This model scheme was prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development on the recommendations of R.V.GUPTA committee to provide term loans for agricultural needs.

 The Modi government has created 1 crore 22 lakh new Kisan credit cards to promote agriculture.  These cards have been created on the basis of an application made after the KCC was linked to the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi Yojana.

 It was inaugurated at a function held at Chitrakoot on February 24.  Since then, as of August 17, so many farmers have been issued cards for loans.  The total loan limit of these cards is Rs 1,02,065 crore.  Under KCC, loans up to Rs 3 lakh are available at an interest rate of only 4%.  The validity of the card is five years.

 The campaign has begun

 According to the Union Finance Ministry, a campaign is being launched to provide relief loans to farmers through Kisan Credit Cards as part of efforts to save the agricultural sector from the Kovid-19 crisis.  These 125 million cards will help revive the rural economy and accelerate the growth of the agricultural sector.

 How to get a Kisan credit card

 1. First go to the official site of PM Kisan Yojana (pmkisan.gov.in).  Download Kisan Credit Card Form here.

 2. You will have to fill up this form along with your cultivable land documents, crop details.

 3. You must report that you have not created another Kisan Credit Card from any other bank or branch.

 What documents are required

 1. Like ID Proof - Voter Card, PAN Card, Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving License One of these will also be your address proof.

 2. KCC can be obtained from any Cooperative Bank, Regional Rural Bank (RRB).

 3. This card can also be taken from SBI, BOI and IDBI Bank.

 Farmers get big discounts

 The interest rate for farming is 9 percent.  But the government subsidizes it by 2%.  That way it comes to 7 percent.  But on timely return, you will get 3% more discount.  Thus its rate is only 4 per cent for honest farmers.  No one can give a loan at such a cheap rate from anywhere.  So if you need a loan for farming, then go to the bank and get a Kisan credit card.
